Hand and Wrist Range of Motion
A sequence of active hand and wrist movements to maintain range of motion in rheumatoid arthritis. Focus on flexibility without joint overload.
How to perform
- Starting position. Perform 10 flexion-extensions of each finger.
- Step 2. Open and close the fist (gentle closure into a soft fist) 10 times.
- Step 3. Perform 10 wrist flexion-extensions.
- Return. Finish with 10 radial-ulnar deviations.
When not to perform
- Acute synovitis with intense pain
