Tai Chi — Cloud Hands
A foundational tai chi movement with strong evidence in fibromyalgia (Wang et al. studies). Combines gentle mobility, proprioception, and autonomic regulation.
How to perform
- Starting position. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent.
- Step 2. Gently transfer your weight to the right leg as your arms move in a circle in front of the body (right hand on top, left below).
- Step 3. Transfer your weight to the left, reversing the hand position.
- Return. Move slowly and continuously, like passing clouds.
When not to perform
- Dizziness with prolonged standing
- Acute pain on trunk rotation
