Location (classical)
1 cun superior to the anterior hairline and 1.5 cun lateral to the midline (directly above BL-4, at the level of GV-23).
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the head supported, first locate Qu Chai (BL-4). Locate Wu Chu (BL-5) 0.5 cun directly above it.
Anatomy
Epicranial aponeurosis. Innervated by the supraorbital nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion of 0.5–0.8 cun.
Etymology
Wu (五), five; Chu (处), place or stop. The point lies 5 fen (each fen equals 0.1 cun) from Qu Chai (BL-4).
