THIS PORTAL?
Medical information requires accountability. Here is what sets us apart.
01 · OUR COMMITMENTS
35 years of CEIMEC
One of the pioneering institutions in medical acupuncture in Brazil. More than 3,000 physicians trained, 50+ specialization cohorts, and over 90% pass rate on the TEAC board exam. We are not a blog — we are a medical institution with three decades of history.
Specialist Physicians and Researchers
All content is produced and reviewed by physicians with specialized training in acupuncture, physiatry, and pain medicine. Editorial responsibility rests with Dr. Marcus Yu Bin Pai (CRM-SP 158074, Sao Paulo State Medical Council), Doctor of Sciences from the University of Sao Paulo (USP).
1,000+ studies reviewed and appraised
The scientific library brings together more than 1,000 studies published in indexed journals, reviewed and appraised for methodological quality, with DOI links for verification at the original source.
References in every article
We add scientific references to every article — with DOI links to the original source. We never host third-party PDFs.
No conflict of interest
We do not sell products, do not receive payments from laboratories, and do not accept advertising from supplement manufacturers or medical device companies.
Transparency about AI
Some content uses AI assistance for drafts and literature synthesis. This is clearly disclosed. All content undergoes physician review before publication.
Leadership in medical societies
Dr. Marcus Yu Bin Pai is Scientific Director of the CMBA (Brazilian Medical College of Acupuncture) and President of the Acupuncture Committee of the SBED (Brazilian Society for the Study of Pain). Dr. Hong Jin Pai is Founding Member and Former Director of the CMBA, and has been part of the WFAS (World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies) since 2006.
Scientific output
The portal’s scientific lead holds a Doctor of Sciences degree from USP, with a thesis published in the European Journal of Pain (RCT, double-blind, sham-controlled). He is the author of chapters in the Tratado de Dor (Pain Treatise) and has 12+ indexed publications, including reviews in BrJP, ResearchGate, and Jornal dos Comites.
Independence statement
This portal does not receive funding from pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, or supplement brands. The content is self-funded by CEIMEC.
