01 · HISTORY
Founded in 1989 by pioneering physicians from USP.
CEIMEC was founded in 1989 by physicians trained at the University of São Paulo Medical School (FMUSP) who, in the 1980s, sought training at the leading hospitals and research centers in China.
These pioneers brought the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine to Brazil and led the consolidation of acupuncture as a medical specialty recognized by the Federal Council of Medicine.

The CEIMEC medical team is an active collaborator with multiple services at Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP:
Faculty members participate in and coordinate scientific research, contribute to conferences such as CINDOR (Interdisciplinary Pain Congress), and publish in Brazilian and international journals.
