How to find it (practical)
In supine decubitus or seated, locate the point on the midline of the sternum, at the level of the first intercostal space.
Anatomy
Manubrium of the sternum. Innervated by the first intercostal nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Hua (華), magnificent; Gai (蓋), umbrella. Hua Gai means that the lung is the cover of the five Zang, and the point treats lung diseases.
