On the head, 1.5 cun posterior to GB-16, along the line that extends directly posterior to the pupil.
How to find it (practical)
Seated, with the head at rest, locate the point 2 cun directly superior to Tou Lin Qi (GB-15).
Anatomy
Epicranial aponeurosis. Innervated by the supraorbital and greater occipital nerves.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Zheng (正), convergence; Ying (营), union. This point is the meeting place of the Gallbladder Meridian, Foot Shao Yang, with the Yang Wei Mai.
