Avoid the ulnar artery and the ulnar nerve.
Location (classical)
On the palmar aspect of the forearm, on the radial border of the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle, 1.5 cun proximal to the wrist crease (HT-7).
How to find it (practical)
With the palm facing up, locate the point on the radial side of the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle, 1.5 cun above the wrist crease.
Anatomy
Flexor carpi ulnaris and flexor digitorum superficialis muscles. Innervated by the medial cutaneous nerve of the forearm and the ulnar nerve. The ulnar artery lies adjacent.
Needling
0.3–1 cun perpendicularly or obliquely in a proximal or distal direction.
Etymology
Ling (靈), function of Xin (Heart); Dao (道), pathway. The Xin (Heart) governs the mind. The point lies in the depression on the radial side of the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris muscle, like a pathway for the mind.
