Location (classical)
On the abdomen, 0.5 cun lateral to the center of the umbilicus (at the level of CV-8).
How to find it (practical)
In dorsal decubitus, locate the point 0.5 cun lateral to the umbilicus, at the level of Shen Que (CV-8).
Anatomy
Rectus abdominis muscle. 10th intercostal nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Huang (肓), peritoneum; Shu (俞), to transport. The Qi of the Shen (Kidney) is introduced into the peritoneum from this point.
