Location (classical)
On the medial aspect of the leg, posterior and inferior to the medial condyle of the tibia, 1 cun posterior to SP-9.
How to find it (practical)
With the knee flexed, first locate Yin Ling Quan (SP-9) at the inferior border of the medial condyle of the tibia. Locate the Xi Guan point (LR-7) 1 cun posterior to Yin Ling Quan (SP-9).
Anatomy
Medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle. Innervated by the saphenous nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 1.0–1.5 cun.
Etymology
Xi (膝), knee; Guan (关), joint. The point is located near the joint and treats diseases of the knee.
