Location (classical)
On the outer (dorsal/ulnar) aspect of the little finger, in the depression 1 fen (approximately 0.1 cun) from the ulnar corner of the nail (at the junction of the lines drawn along the ulnar border and the base of the nail).
How to find it (practical)
With the palm facing down, locate the point at the intersection of the lines passing through the lateral border and the base of the nail of the little finger.
Anatomy
Skin, subcutaneous tissue, dorsal digital nerve and vein, dorsal branches of the proper palmar digital branches of the ulnar nerve and proper palmar digital arteries, fifth distal phalanx.
Needling
Perpendicular or oblique insertion directed proximally 0.1 to 0.2 cun, or prick to bleed.
Etymology
Shao (少), little finger, small; Ze (澤), marsh. The point lies on the little finger where Qi and Xue (Blood) of the Meridian originate, like a small marsh.
