Location (classical)
On a line connecting Yanggu SI-5 and Xiaohai SI-8, 5 cun proximal to Yanggu SI-5, in the groove between the anterior border of the ulna and the muscle belly of the flexor carpi ulnaris.
How to find it (practical)
With the elbow flexed and the palmar surface facing the chest, locate the point 5 cun above Yang Gu (SI-5), on the medial border of the ulna, on the line connecting Yang Gu (SI-5) and Xiao Hai (SI-8).
Anatomy
Flexor carpi ulnaris muscle. Innervated by the medial cutaneous nerve of the forearm and the ulnar nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1 cun. The point should be needled with the patient supine, with the arm supinated or resting on the chest.
Etymology
Zhi (支), divergence; Zheng (正), Regular Meridian. The Collateral of the Hand Tai Yang Small Intestine Meridian leaves this point for the Hand Shao Yin Heart Meridian.
