On the sacrum, 1.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline, at the level of the third posterior sacral foramen.
How to find it (practical)
In ventral decubitus, locate the point below the third sacral vertebra, 1.5 cun lateral to the posterior midline.
Anatomy
Gluteus maximus muscle.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.8–1.2 cun.
Etymology
Zhong (中), center; Lu (膂), paravertebral muscles; Shu (俞), point. This point lies in the middle of the paravertebral muscles.
