Location (classical)
On the lateral aspect of the head, posterior to the ear, along the curve joining GB-9 and GB-12, approximately 1 cun inferior to GB-9.
How to find it (practical)
Seated or in lateral decubitus, locate the point 1 cun obliquely-posteriorly to the Shuai Gu point (GB-8).
Anatomy
Posterior auricular muscle. Innervated by the lesser occipital nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Fu (浮), superior; Bai (白), brightness. The point is located on the upper part of the head, easily visualized.
