Location (classical)
On the upper abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline, 6 cun above the umbilicus (level of CV-14).
How to find it (practical)
Supine, locate the point 6 cun above the umbilicus and 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Anatomy
Rectus abdominis muscle. Intercostal nerves.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Bu (不), not; Rong (容), to contain. The point lies in the upper abdomen, and treats abdominal distension when the Wei (Stomach) can no longer receive food and water.
