Location (classical)
On the upper abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline, 4 cun above the umbilicus (level of CV-12).
How to find it (practical)
Supine, locate the point 4 cun above the umbilicus and 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Anatomy
Rectus abdominis muscle and its sheath. Innervated by the 7th and 8th intercostal nerves. Superior epigastric artery and vein.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion 0.8–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Liang (梁), grain or food; Men (门), gate. The point lies in the upper epigastric region, which is the gate for the passage of food into the Wei (Stomach).
