Precautions
Extremely painful point.
Location (classical)
On the dorsal aspect of the 2nd toe, 0.1 cun from the lateral (fibular) corner of the nail.
How to find it (practical)
Supine or seated, locate the point at the intersection of the line along the lateral aspect with the basal line of the lateral nail angle of the 2nd toe.
Anatomy
Nail bed. Innervated by the dorsal digital nerve from the deep fibular nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular or oblique insertion in a proximal direction 0.1–0.2 cun, or prick to bleed.
Etymology
Li (厉), top; Dui (兑), point. This point lies on the distal phalanx of the 2nd toe, like a gate of the Stomach Meridian.
