How to find it (practical)
With the hand on the hip and the elbow flexed, locate the point in the depression 1 cun posterior and superior to the olecranon.
Anatomy
Tendon of the triceps brachii muscle. Innervated by the posterior brachial cutaneous nerve and the radial nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Tian (天), heaven, upper part; Jing (井), well. The point lies 1 cun above the elbow (upper portion, Tian). At this location there is a small depression like a well.
