Location (classical)
On the dorsal aspect of the forearm, 3 cun proximal to the dorsal carpal crease, approximately one finger-width ulnar to TE-6, on the radial border of the ulna.
How to find it (practical)
With the arm extended and pronated, locate the point 3 cun above the dorsal transverse crease of the wrist, on the ulnar side of Zhi Gou (TE-6) and on the radial border of the ulna.
Anatomy
Extensor digiti minimi and extensor carpi ulnaris muscles. Innervated by the posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve and the posterior interosseous nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Hui (会), meeting, confluence; Zong (宗), family, several. This point is indicated to treat hearing deficit because the ear is a place where various meridians and collaterals converge.
