Location (classical)
On the dorsal aspect of the forearm, 4 cun proximal to the dorsal carpal crease, between the radius and the ulna.
How to find it (practical)
With the arm extended and pronated, locate the point 4 cun immediately above the midpoint of the dorsal wrist crease, between the ulna and the radius.
Anatomy
Extensor digitorum communis and abductor pollicis longus muscles. Innervated by the posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve and the posterior interosseous nerve.
Needling
Vertical or oblique insertion up to 1.5 cun.
Etymology
San Yang (三阳), three Yang meridians of the hand; Luo (絡), connection. This point connects the three Yang meridians of the hand.
