How to find it (practical)
In supine decubitus or seated, locate the point on the midline of the sternum, at the level of the second intercostal space.

Body of the sternum. Innervated by the second intercostal nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Zi (紫), purple; Gong (宮), palace. Zi Gong is the name of a star and refers to the residence of the Emperor. The point corresponds to the Xin (Heart), the monarch of the organs, hence called Zi Gong.
