In the gluteal region, 3 cun lateral to the posterior midline, at the level of the second sacral foramen (at the level of BL-32).
How to find it (practical)
In ventral decubitus, locate the point below the second sacral vertebra, 3 cun lateral to the posterior midline.
Anatomy
Gluteus maximus muscle. Innervated by the superior gluteal nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 1.0–1.5 cun.
Etymology
Bao (胞), bladder; Huang (肓), membrane that supports the bladder. The point lies at the level of Pang Guang Shu (BL-28).
