On the lateral aspect of the leg, 4 cun superior to the prominence of the lateral malleolus, slightly anterior to the anterior border of the fibula.
🧭 How to find it (practical)
Seated with the feet supported or in lateral decubitus, locate the point 4 cun above the apex of the lateral malleolus, on the anterior border of the fibula.
🔬 Anatomy
Fibularis brevis and extensor digitorum longus muscles. Innervated by the superficial fibular nerve.
💉 Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 1.0–1.5 cun.
📜 Etymology
Yang (阳), Yang of Yin-Yang; Fu (辅), fibula. The point is located anterior to the fibula, on the lateral aspect of the leg.
