Location (classical)
On the lateral aspect of the leg, 5 cun superior to the prominence of the lateral malleolus, on the anterior border of the fibula.
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the feet supported or in lateral decubitus, locate the point 5 cun above the apex of the lateral malleolus, on the anterior border of the fibula.
Anatomy
Fibularis brevis and extensor digitorum longus muscles. Innervated by the superficial fibular nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 1.0–1.5 cun.
Etymology
Guang (光), light; Ming (明), bright. Indicated in eye disorders, as it is the Luo (Connecting) point of the Gallbladder Meridian.
