How to find it (practical)
In dorsal decubitus, locate the point 5 cun above the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to the anterior midline, at the level of Shang Wan (CV-13).
Anatomy
Rectus abdominis muscle. 7th intercostal nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Fu (腹), abdomen; Tong (通), passage; Gu (谷), point of influence of the flesh. The point lies on the abdomen, where food passes.
