📍 Location (classical)
In the tender depression superior to the medial end of the spine of the scapula, midway between Naoshu SI-10 and the spinous process of T2.
🧭 How to find it (practical)
Seated, with the upper limb relaxed, locate it at the midpoint of the line connecting Nao Shu (SI-10) and the spinous process of the second thoracic vertebra.
🔬 Anatomy
Trapezius and supraspinatus muscles. Innervated by the suprascapular nerve and accessory nerve.
💉 Needling
Perpendicular or oblique insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
📜 Etymology
Qu (曲), curved; Yuan (垣), wall. The point lies on the spine of the scapula, which resembles a curved wall.
