Location (classical)
On the chest, directly below ST-12, on the inferior border of the clavicle, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
How to find it (practical)
Seated or supine, locate the point at the midpoint of the inferior border of the clavicle, 4 cun lateral to the sternal midline, directly above the nipple.
Anatomy
Pectoralis major muscle. Subclavius muscle. Innervated by the supraclavicular and pectoral nerves.
Needling
Transverse-oblique insertion along the rib 0.5–0.8 cun.
Etymology
Qi (氣), air; Hu (戶), door. The point lies in the upper chest region, like a door for Qi and for the vital energy of Fei (Lung) and Wei (Stomach).
