On the upper abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline, 2 cun above the umbilicus (level of CV-10).
How to find it (practical)
Supine, locate the point 2 cun above the umbilicus and 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Anatomy
Rectus abdominis muscle. Innervated by the 8th and 9th intercostal nerves.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion 0.8–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Tai (太), great; Yi (乙), part of an ancient Chinese system of ordinal numbers.
