Location (classical)
On the anterolateral surface of the leg, 8 cun above the lateral malleolus, two finger-breadths lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia (lateral to ST-38).
How to find it (practical)
Seated, with the knee flexed, locate the point 8 cun above the lateral malleolus, at the same level as Tiao Kou (ST-38), 1.5 cun lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia.
Anatomy
Extensor digitorum longus and fibularis brevis muscles. Innervated by the superficial fibular nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular or oblique insertion 1.0–1.5 cun.
Etymology
Feng (丰), abundant; Long (隆), bulge. The point lies where the muscular mass is abundant.
