Location (classical)
With the hand slightly clenched, in the depression between the metacarpophalangeal joints of the ring finger and little finger, proximal to the margin of the interdigital fold.
How to find it (practical)
With the fingers slightly flexed and the palmar surface facing down, locate the point in the cleft at the level of the intersection between the little and ring fingers, at the transition of light and dark skin.
Anatomy
Fourth dorsal interosseous muscle. Innervated by the dorsal digital nerve from the ulnar nerve.
Needling
Vertical insertion up to 0.5 cun. Alternatively, proximal oblique insertion of 0.2 to 0.3 cun.
Etymology
Ye (液), water; Men (門), gate. It has the function of regulating the passage of water, like a gate.
