Precautions
Avoid the femoral artery.
Location (classical)
In the middle of the inguinal crease, 2 cun inferior to ST-30 (which lies at the level of the upper border of the pubic symphysis), on the lateral border of the adductor longus muscle, where the femoral artery can be palpated.
How to find it (practical)
In dorsal decubitus, first locate Qi Chong (ST-30). Locate the Yin Lian point (LR-11) 2 cun immediately below Qi Chong (ST-30).
Anatomy
Skin, subcutaneous tissue, branch of the obturator nerve, branch of the femoral nerve, femoral artery and vein, ilioinguinal nerve, branch of the genitofemoral nerve, adductor longus and pectineus muscles.
Needling
Perpendicular or oblique insertion, 0.5–1.5 cun.
Etymology
Yin (阴), medial aspect; Lian (廉), corner. The point is located on the medial aspect of the thigh, near the genitalia.
