Location (classical)
On the dorsum of the foot, between the 1st and 2nd toes, 0.5 cun proximal to the margin of the interdigital web.
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the feet supported, locate the point on the dorsum of the foot, in the depression between the great toe and the second toe, proximal to the margin of the interosseous web.
Anatomy
Dorsal interosseous muscle. Innervated by the deep fibular nerve.
Needling
0.3–0.5 cun obliquely toward the heel or vertically, or 0.5–1.0 cun perpendicularly.
Etymology
Xing (行), walking; Jian (间), between. This point is located between the great toe and the second toe, in the depression anterior to the first and second metatarsophalangeal joints.
