Supine, locate the point in the third intercostal space, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Anatomy
Pectoralis major and pectoralis minor muscles. Innervated by the 3rd intercostal nerve.
Needling
0.5–0.8 cun obliquely or transversely (subcutaneously), parallel to the intercostal space.
Etymology
Xiong (胸), chest; Xiang (乡), dwelling. The point lies on the lateral aspect of the chest.
