Avoid the basilic vein and the brachial artery.
Location (classical)
3 cun proximal to the cubital crease, on the medial border of the biceps brachii muscle. With the elbow flexed, measure 3 cun from the ulnar end of the cubital crease (HT-3) toward the axilla. Located in a groove on the medial border of the biceps brachii.
How to find it (practical)
With the elbow flexed, select Shao Hai (HT-3). Locate Qing Ling (HT-2) 3 cun above Shao Hai (HT-3).
Anatomy
Medial border of the biceps brachii and brachialis muscles. Innervated by the medial cutaneous nerve of the forearm and the ulnar nerve. The basilic vein runs superficially.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Qing (青), pain treatment; Ling (靈), efficacy. An analgesic point, indicated for the treatment of upper-limb pain and headache.
