HP Points (Hong Jin Pai Points)

The HP Points represent a specialized acupuncture point system developed by Dr. Hong Jin Pai to increase therapeutic efficacy and clinical analgesia, particularly in cases where classical acupuncture protocols give unsatisfactory results. The system is divided into two point categories:

• Repurposed Classical Points

  Traditional acupoints identified as having new therapeutic properties beyond their classical indications — for example, Zhong Wan (CV 12) as HP 11, Tian Shu (ST 25) as HP 10, and Fu Tu (ST 32) as HP 6.

• New Extra Points

  Newly identified points located at distinct anatomical sites (e.g., HP 1, HP 2, HP 3), discovered through clinical research targeting specific refractory conditions.
