In dorsal recumbency. In the presternal region, at the angle of the sternum — manubriosternal symphysis (the cartilaginous joint between the manubrium and the body of the sternum).

Skin, subcutaneous tissue, origin of the sternocostal part of the pectoralis major muscle, membrane and angle of the sternum (the area between the manubrium and the body of the sternum). Anterior branches of the first intercostal nerve, branches or tributaries of the internal thoracic artery and veins.
