HP-8 HP8 (洪8) — HP-8 Point (Prof. Dr. Hong Jin Pai)

Seated with the neck in extension. On the anterior median line, at the apex of the cervical (submental) trigone, adjacent to the posterior part of the inferior margin of the mandible.

Skin, subcutaneous tissue, fascia, mylohyoid and geniohyoid muscles. Superficial layer: cervical branches of the facial nerve and branches of the superior branch of the transverse cervical nerve (C III), anterior jugular vein (which begins at the level of the hyoid bone, crosses below the sternocleidomastoid muscle, and frequently opens into the external jugular vein). Deep layer: branches or tributaries of the lingual artery (the second anterior branch of the external carotid artery) and lingual vein, branches of the hypoglossal and mylohyoid nerves (a branch of the mandibular nerve).
