How to find it (practical)
In dorsal decubitus, locate the point in the fourth intercostal space, at the midpoint between the sternal and midclavicular lines, 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Anatomy
Pectoralis major muscle. 4th intercostal nerve.
Needling
Transverse-oblique insertion, 0.5–0.8 cun.
Etymology
Shen (神), heart; Feng (封), border. The point lies near the Xin (Heart), where the Shen (spirit) is stored.
