How to find it (practical)
In supine decubitus or seated, locate the point on the midline of the sternum, at the level of the third intercostal space.
Anatomy
Body of the sternum. Innervated by the third intercostal nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Yu (玉), jade; Tang (堂), palace. The point is located at the level of the heart, which, like jade, is precious and considered a palace of jade.
