CONTRAINDICATED IN PREGNANCY.
Location (classical)
In the perineum, at the midpoint between the anus and the posterior labial commissure in women, or the root of the scrotum in men.
How to find it (practical)
In supine decubitus, locate the point between the anus and the posterior root of the scrotum in men, and between the anus and the posterior commissure of the labia majora of the vulva in women.
Anatomy
Bulbospongiosus muscle, central tendon of the perineum. Innervated by the perineal nerve (branch of the pudendal nerve).
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Hui (會), crossing; Yin (陰), genitalia. The point is located in the region between the genitalia and the anus, called Hui Yin.
