Location (classical)
On the medial side of the leg, 5 cun superior to KI-3, on the line connecting KI-3 to KI-10, at the inferior border of the medial belly of the gastrocnemius muscle.
How to find it (practical)
Seated or in dorsal decubitus, locate the point 5 cun immediately above Tai Xi (KI-3), at the anterior border of the calcaneal tendon.
Anatomy
Soleus and gastrocnemius muscles. Innervated by the medial sural cutaneous nerve and the tibial nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.5–1.0 cun.
Etymology
Zhu (筑), strong; Bin (宾), knee and leg. The point lies on the medial side of the leg. It has the function of strengthening the knee and leg.
