Location (classical)
1.5 cun lateral to the midline and 2.5 cun superior to the anterior hairline (1.5 cun posterior to BL-5).
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the head supported, first locate Qu Chai (BL-4). Locate Cheng Guang (BL-6) 2 cun directly above it.
Anatomy
Epicranial aponeurosis. Innervated by the supraorbital nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion of 0.5–0.8 cun.
Etymology
Cheng (承), to receive; Guang (光), brightness. The point treats various ocular disorders.
