Location (classical)
On the lateral aspect of the foot, directly anterior and inferior to BL-62, in the depression posterior to the tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal.
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the foot supported or in dorsal decubitus, locate the point 0.5 cun anterior and inferior to Shen Mai (BL-62), in the depression of the inferior margin of the cuboid bone.
Anatomy
Tendon of the peroneus brevis muscle, abductor digiti minimi. Innervated by the lateral dorsal cutaneous nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Jin (金), gold; Men (门), gate. The starting point of the Yang Wei Mai, the site where Qi and Xue (Blood) are concentrated, with a value equivalent to gold.
