Location (classical)
On the lateral aspect of the foot, below the tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal, at the junction of the red and white skin.
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the foot supported or in dorsal decubitus, locate the point on the lateral aspect of the foot, at the transition between light and dark skin, anterior and inferior to the tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal.
Anatomy
Abductor digiti minimi muscle. Innervated by the lateral dorsal cutaneous nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Jing Gu (京骨), the ancient name of the tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal. The point lies at the anteroinferior margin of this tuberosity.
