📍 Location (classical)
On the lateral aspect of the chest, in the fourth intercostal space, 1 cun anterior to GB-22 (at the level of the nipple).
🧭 How to find it (practical)
Seated or in lateral decubitus, with the upper limb abducted, locate the point 1 cun anterior to Yuan Ye (GB-22), in the depression between Yuan Ye (GB-22) and Tian Xi (SP-18). In men, the point is located at the level of the nipple.
🔬 Anatomy
Serratus anterior muscle, intercostal muscles. Innervated by the 4th intercostal nerve and the long thoracic nerve.
💉 Needling
Transverse-oblique insertion along the intercostal space, 0.5–0.8 cun.
📜 Etymology
Zhe (辄), an ancient curved cart-piece resembling a rib; Jin (筋), tendon. The point is located in the intercostal space.
