Location (classical)
On the lateral aspect of the leg, 7 cun superior to the prominence of the lateral malleolus, on the posterior border of the fibula.
How to find it (practical)
Seated with the feet supported or in lateral decubitus, locate the point 7 cun above the lateral malleolus, on the posterior border of the fibula.
Anatomy
Fibularis brevis and soleus muscles. Innervated by the superficial fibular nerve.
Needling
Perpendicular insertion, 1.0–1.5 cun.
Etymology
Yang (阳), Yang of Yin-Yang; Jiao (交), crossing. The point is located on the lateral aspect of the leg, where the Gallbladder Meridian, Foot Shao Yang, crosses with the Yang Wei Mai.
