How to find it (practical)
Seated, with the head at rest, locate the point 3.5 cun directly superior to Tou Lin Qi (GB-15), at the level of Tong Tian (BL-7).
Anatomy
Epicranial aponeurosis. Innervated by the greater occipital nerve.
Needling
Transverse (subcutaneous) insertion, 0.3–0.5 cun.
Etymology
Cheng (承), to receive; Ling (灵), spirit. The brain dominates the mind; thus, this point treats neuropsychiatric disorders, calming the head and the mind.
